"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

This is an announcement to all members who seek to enter an OC Tournament!
There shall be a tournament of only magic user characters, especially for magic user characters! This tournament shall be for the grand prize of the winning character gaining something very precious beyond their wildest dreams, and for the winning artist to gain a donated year's subscription to DeviantArt by the contest host.
The rules are as follows for entrants for the preliminaries:
Only original characters who can use magic, coupled with one non-magic ally and/or a familiar (magic pet), may enter. Any sort of character is accepted, as long as they use magic primarily.
The rules for the amount of magic a character can use are lenient, but said character has to have a specialization for strong magic in one area, or have weak magic but in many areas.
Any magic items that are used must have a visible means for which you character must carry them. (Aka: No hammerspace)
All entries must be completed within the allotted time given unless all contestants are given more time based on the collective decisions of the judges.
All entries must be at most R-rating in violence and PG-13 in sexuality. (To keep from offending anyone or 'scarring' the younger spectators)
The only required forms of media are anything that give your entries definite, solid form, such as comics or flash animations.
The audition (preliminary round) required to enter the tournament will be an entry on your characters getting to the battle ground: A gigantic desert city of steampunk technology protected within a wall of stone. This city's name is Intermuralis.
Only 16 OCs will be chosen for the main match-ups, and the audition time will only be about month long from when the Preliminaries start.
And, though it is not required, it would be nice to other competitors if you could include a character reference with your preliminary entry.
